Hey yall, finally got my copy in the mail and I'm finally looking at the rulebook. 2 sapper-related questions popped into my head (I apologize if these have been asked before):
1) If the sapper is not in play for a game, is there any reason to keep the 3 fortification tokens in a supply by the board as directed in the setup instructions? In other words, there is no way to utilize/interact with the fortification supply without the sapper, right?
2) The rulebook says "The three siege weapons (Trebuchet, War Wagon, Siege Tower) have a new type of action... a Siege Tactic." This, on its own, would imply that the Sapper does NOT have a siege tactic - and yet, one is explicitly defined on the Sapper card. My usual rule of thumb is that cards trump rulebooks (ie Sapper's tactic is indeed a siege tactic), but thought I'd double check just to remove any ambiguity. My guess is maybe in an earlier version Sapper was slightly more powerful?
Thanks!
1. The extra fort tokens are not needed when. The dapper is not in play. The dapper is the only unit that can place them.
2. “Siege” is a typo on the Sapper card. The Sapper uses a normal tactic, not a Siege Tactic.
