P.I(피아이) 올바른 점수계산 규칙.

안녕하세요.

P.I(피아이)라는 추리 게임은 Treefrog Games가 출판을 중단하면서, 지금은 절판되어 보기 어려운 게임이 되었지만 아직도 여러 보드게임카페에서 손님들에게 돌려지고 있는 게임입니다. 이 게임은 설명하는 사람에 따라 점수계산 규칙이 다른데, 왜냐하면 P.I의 게임 박스에 있는 규칙서의 내용과 보드게임 아레나에서 설명하는 규칙이 다르기 때문입니다. 그래서 P.I 점수계산 규칙에 의문이 들어 게임 디자이너 Martin Wallace 씨에게 문의했는데, 답변을 받아 내용을 공유하고자 글 씁니다.

먼저 규칙서를 살펴보면, 게임 박스의 규칙서에는 아래의 내용이 적혀 있습니다.

Once you have solved your crime you do not perform any more actions. The first player to solve their case places their Points counter in the seven points box. After that when a player solves their case they place their Points counter in the next empty box down, i.e. the second player to solve their case will score five points. However, any player who solves their case in the same round as another player does, i.e. they have taken the same number of turns, also places their Points counter in the same scoring box (which means it is possible that there is no single last player).

자신의 사건을 가장 처음 해결한 플레이어는 점수 카운터를 7점 칸에 놓는다. 그 뒤로 사건을 해결하는 플레이어들은 차례대로 다음 빈칸에 점수 카운터를 놓는다. 즉, 두번째로 사건을 해결한 플레이어의 점수 카운터는 5점 칸에 올라간다. 하지만 같은 라운드에 사건을 해결한 플레이어들은 (사건을 해결할 때까지 같은 수의 턴을 가진 플레이어들) 그 라운드에 먼저 사건을 해결한 플레이어와 같은 점수 칸에 점수 카운터를 올린다 . (이것은 1명의 마지막 플레이어가 없을 수도 있다는 뜻이다.)

내용을 요약하면 '사건을 해결하는 플레이어들은 7, 5, 3, 1, 0 차례대로 점수 카운터를 놓아라' 라는 내용입니다. 나머지 아래의 영문 내용을 읽어도 '만약 2명 이상의 플레이어가 같은 점수를 얻으면, 다음으로 사건을 해결한 플레이어는 다음 빈 칸에 점수 카운터를 놓는다. 예로 2명이 7점을 얻으면 다음으로 사건을 해결한 플레이어는 5점' 이라는 내용만 있고, '잘못된 정보를 주면 0점을 얻는다' 라는 내용으로 이어지고 규칙서가 끝납니다.

규칙서에는 '사건을 해결하지 못한 플레이어가 0점이 된다' 는 내용이 없습니다.

그러나 보드게임 아레나로 넘어가서 규칙을 살펴보면,

[Once a player solves a case for the first time in that round, (in phase 6 of the current round for example,) they get 7 points, and each subsequent player who solves their case in the same phase (phase 6 in our example) also gets 7 points. Once the phase ends, if there are at least two players who didn"t solve the case yet, then the game continues, but on the phase the next player solves the case, they get 2 fewer points--and that goes for all players who solve the case in that same phase.] This continues on and on, until only 1 (or 0) player remains. If one player remains at the end of a phase, that player won"t gain any points for the round, and the next round starts.

[ ~ ]괄호 안 내용은 게임 규칙서와 같은 내용, 그러나 맨 밑 줄에 한 줄이 추가되어 있습니다. 이것은 1명(또는 0명)의 플레이어만 남을 때까지 계속됩니다. 한 플레이어가 라운드 끝에 남게 되면 해당 플레이어는 라운드에서 점수를 얻지 못하고 다음 라운드가 시작됩니다.

여기서는 '마지막으로 사건을 해결하지 못한 플레이어는 0점이 된다' 는 규칙이 추가되어 있습니다.

그래서 보드게임긱에 문의글을 남기고, Martin Wallace 씨에게 메일을 보냈습니다. 제 문의에 답변을 해주실 수 있는지 물어보자 흔쾌히 "Will do" 라는 답장을 해주더니 바로 코멘트가 달렸습니다.

I would go with the BGA implementation rules. As far as I can see they are correct.

그래서 P.I의 올바른 점수계산 규칙은 사건을 해결한 플레이어부터 7점, 5점, 3점 순서대로 점수 카운터를 올리고 마지막으로 남은 플레이어(사건을 해결하지 못한 꼴등 플레이어)는 자동으로 0점 처리되고 다음 라운드를 시작하는 것으로 명확하게 정리되었습니다. 읽어주셔서 감사합니다.
