The empty Forest location represents the Border, where Everdell residents are moving from the realm to try to make it on their own. Perhaps they can be drawn back into your city.
Setup:
The empty Forest location becomes the Border pile. Begin the game with no cards in the Border pile.
New Rule:
When one or more Meadow card are replaced, also take one card from the draw pile and add it face up to the top of the Border pile.
The top card of the Border pile may be played or drawn as if it were part of the Meadow, but is not replaced.
