As we approach the campaign's final days, we want to remind you that this part of our Special Edition journey wraps up on Thursday, the first day of Essen SPIEL 2024! And here's one more reminder—if you're attending, please come visit us at Booth No. 3Z311 (Hall #3). We’d love to show you the Puerto Rico Special Edition prototype components and chat about the project!
Here is a quick glimpse of what we are preparing to showcase at our booth! (an IMPORTANT notice that these are some WiP components painted in-house by our painters, so they are not in final shape/form/size, and this is NOT a representation of the Sundrop pre-wash that we are offering during the campaign)
Now, let’s get to today’s Quality of Life upgrade reveal!
As you may have already seen on our project page, the Special Edition (Standard also!) features completely redesigned Player Boards. These dual-layered boards, 3mm thick, come with dedicated slots for Building tiles, Goods, Victory Points, Coins, and Character tokens, making the organization smooth and intuitive.
But there’s more! Today, we’re happy to reveal that each Player Board will now have its unique artwork and shape. Instead of having five identical boards differentiated only by character tokens, each board will now offer distinct graphic designs and unique shapes, adding a deeper layer of immersion. These boards will continue to be personalized with double-sided Character tokens, which feature both male and female representations and can be used with any board.
This upgrade will provide each player with a visually unique representation of the part of the island they’ll be managing and developing, adding variety and thematic depth to every session. Whether you’ve chosen the Standard or Special Edition, all backers will receive five unique dual-layered boards!
