복잡한 이야기니까 결론부터 이야기하면

골때리는 점은 이 이야기가 티알클측에서 직접 말해준게 아니라

위저드 오브 더 코스트와 GF9의 소송전 중에 나왔다는것이죠

위저드 오브 더 코스트(이하 돈법사)는 던전앤 드래곤의 제작사이며

GF9은 던전 앤 드래곤의 해외배급을 담당하고 있는 회사입니다

국내 정발판 또한 GF9과 티알클의 계약을 통해서 들어오게 되었지요

그런데 최근 돈법사는 GF9과의 계약을 일방적으로 파기하였고 GF9은 그에 항의하면서 소송전을 벌입니다

이 공방 자체도 되게 흥미로운 내용이 많습니다만

중요한건 이 소송전 와중에 티알클이 '이미' 국내 판권을 잃어버렸다는 사실이 공개된것이지요

돈법사는 GF9과의 계약 파기 이유로 한국과 프랑스판의 출판에 심각한 문제가 생긴것을 이유로 들고 있습니다

29. Wizards’ notice of breach states that it intends to terminate of the 2017 Agreement, unless GF9 remedies its breach to Wizards’ satisfaction within the applicable time periods for cure.

However, the products translated and distributed by TRPG Club, which are the subject of Wizards’ allegation of breach, were submitted in their final translated form to Wizards and approved by Wizards for release. Wizards informed GF9 that it had reviewers on its staff who were fluent in Korean who reviewed the product as translated and did not note a single correction or issue.

32. When the translation quality issue was brought to the attention of GF9 and Wizards, GF9 sought direction from Wizards on the action necessary to rectify the alleged translation issue. Although GF9 and TRPG Club disputed that any significant deficiency in the translation was present in the products, GF9 offered to remove the products from the market. However, Wizards directed GF9 to leave the products in the market and to not renew its contract with TRPG Club or submit any additional products for approval.

"우리는 분명 당시 번역본을 돈법사에 제출했었고 분명 당신들 승인을 받았었다"

"그리고 이후에 문제가 터져서 이걸 회수하자고 당신들한테 보고했을때 기존에 풀린 제품들은 냅두고 TRPG클럽과의 계약을 갱신하지 말것, 추가 계약 금지라는 명령을 내린적이 있었지 않냐"

이렇게 말했습니다.
