About this project
BattleCON is a board game that brings the tactics, strategy, and ferocity of 2D fighting games like Street Fighter to your tabletop. Each BattleCON Fighter features a Unique Ability–a combat subsystem designed specifically for them, giving them a never-before-seen fighting style that you will have to master, and that your opponents will have to play around.
Trials is a new medium-sized box in the BattleCON series, containing 10 new fighters, each with a complete range of all-new skills and abilities. Read more about the exciting new fighters in BattleCON: Trials down below.
Trials is the fourth box in the BattleCON series, and each of those games have come to Kickstarter and been funded and delivered successfully through Kickstarter. In the tradition of BattleCON, we have brought Trials to you through Kickstarter so that you can get involved in the game and help to make it even better!
If you're totally new to BattleCON, and you want to learn a bit more about the game and how it's played, check out this tutorial!
BattleCON uses a system of connecting cards to forge customized attacks. With only a few cards, characters have a wide array of flexible attacks that can suit any situation!
The best way to understand it is to play it yourself! Download the print and play edition and join the fight!
Trials features 10 new fighters, and each fighter possesses a previously unseen unique ability that will completely change way they fight and they way you fight against them.
The 10 fighters featured in Trials are fan-favorites chosen from the established cast of theWorld of Indines (a series of fantasy games created by Level 99 Games) each of these characters have appeared elsewhere–either in Argent: the Consortium, Seven-Card Slugfest, or Pixel Tactics (well, except for Hayden, she's totally new!).
In addition to the new cast of fighters, we're bringing some big changes to the way we present the game. The BattleCON Formula remains the same, but we've put extra focus on improving the game experience and overall feel.
Since its debut in 2012, BattleCON has been a favorite of fans and reviewers.

Here's the team behind Trials!

We're all very excited to be bringing BattleCON: Trials to you next year! Thanks so much for supporting the project and for being a part of Level 99 Games!
Risks and challenges
BattleCON has been developed and refined over 4 years by the team at Level 99 Games. Not only was BattleCON our very first game, but it's been a favorite of both players and reviewers since its first introduction.
We continually seek to improve on our games, and we're introducing a lot more than just new characters in BattleCON: Trials, the game's fourth installment. Trials introduces a new format for BattleCON games, as well as an improved set of components and storage/display options. We're confident when we say that Trials is poised to be the best BattleCON game yet!
As with all projects, there are risks of delays with our factory and fulfillment. We're working with a factory that has proven itself in producing and shipping games on time, and with experienced fulfillment centers around the world.
Some previous BattleCON games have been delayed by our propensity to keep adding new characters and play options, and overdoing it on our stretch goals. This time, we have fully budgeted, playtested, and planned all aspects of the game and its stretch goals, and we're confident that regardless of the game's success on Kickstarter, we will be able to deliver the game within our projected timeline.
In the past 4 years, we've successfully funded and delivered over 10 Kickstarter Projects. While every project still teaches us a thing or two about the industry, we are confident in our ability to deal with any unforeseen difficulties.
